South Korean boy band EXO was the first to take home the award when the category was introduced in 2013. B.A.P. won in both 2014 and 2016, with BTS taking the honor in 2015.

The 2017 MTV EMAs will take place Nov. 12 in London. American singer Taylor Swift leads the pack with six nominations, with Shawn Mendes, Ed Sheeran and Kendrick Lamar each up for five awards.

Wanna One was formed on the South Korean reality competition Produce 101 Season 2 this year. The boy band will release 1-1=0 (Nothing Without You), a reissue of their debut album, 1x1=1 (To Be One), in November.

Mamamoo last released the EP Purple in June, which included the single "Yes I Am." The popular girls group is also known for the songs "Um Oh Ah Yeh", "You're the Best" and "Décalcomanie."
