Sept. 7 (UPI) -- U-Kiss singer Kiseop is recovering after suffering burns in an explosion on set.

The 26-year-old K-pop star was hospitalized Wednesday after a prop blew up as he was filming a music video with the South Korean boy band, according to The Korea Herald.

"U-Kiss member Kiseop was in an accident involving an explosion while filming a music video," the group's agency, NH Media, confirmed in a statement.

Kiseop was using a smoke emitter when the machine exploded near his face, giving him second-degree burns and injuries from the shrapnel. He was rushed to a hospital in Incheon, South Korea, near the music video's set.

Star Today reported Thursday that Kiseop was recovering at home.

"Kiseop is currently resting at home and he will begin outpatient treatment while keeping an eye on the progress," NH Media said. "We are sorry for worrying the fans."

U-Kiss also consists of singers Soohyun, Eli, Hoon and Jun. The boy band is known for such singles "Bingeul Bingeul" and "Dear My Friend," and last released the Japanese album U-Kiss Solo & Unit Album in March.
