Sam Smith says his new song is due out Friday

Sept. 4 (UPI) -- British singer-songwriter Sam Smith says the long wait for his new music will end Friday.

"Too Good At Goodbyes'. 8th September 2017. So excited for you to hear the new single...  [Heart emoji] you all xx," Smith tweeted Monday.

His last album, In the Lonely Hour, was released in 2014. He has taken a break from the spotlight since 2016, following his Oscar win for Best Song for "Writing's on the Wall," the opening theme to the James Bond film, Spectre.
