Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Jay-Z performed his collaboration with Linkin Park "Numb/Encore" Sunday in honor of Linkin Park's late singer, Chester Bennington.

Jay-Z dedicated the song to Bennington who died in July at the age of 41 during his set at England's Virgin V Festival at Hyland Park, Us Weekly reported.

"Can you guys light it up tonight for Chester?" the rapper asked fans onstage, noted E! News. "Linkin Park, one time tonight. Please make some noise so he can hear you all the way in heaven tonight!"

"Peace and love!" Jay-Z said at the end of his performance.

"Numb/Encore" was featured on Jay-Z and Linkin Park's 2004 EP Collision Course. The track won Best Rap/Sung Collaboration at the 2006 Grammys.

Bennington was laid to rest at the end of July during a private funeral near his home in Palos Verdes, Calif. The singer was discovered dead inside his residence. The Los Angeles County coroner's office confirmed that the 41-year-old hanged himself from a bedroom door.
