Pink to receive MTV's Video Vanguard Award at VMAs

Aug. 16 (UPI) -- Pink will receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the upcoming 2017 MTV Video Music Awards.

The pop star will be honored for her impact on music, pop culture, fashion and philanthropy, as well as her stunning videography that includes music videos for "Trouble," "Just Like a Pill," and "So What," MTV announced.

Pink now joins the likes of Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Madonna, Kanye West and Rihanna who have previously taken home the award.

Throughout her career, Pink has won six Video Music Awards out of 18 nominations, including Video of the Year for "Lady Marmalade," Best Pop Video for "Stupid Girls" and Best Female Video for "Get the Party Started."

The VMAs, hosted by Katy Perry and airing Aug. 27, will feature performances by Miley Cyrus, Ed Sheeran, Fifth Harmony and The Weeknd.

Recently, Pink returned to music with a new single titled "What About Us" from her upcoming seventh studio album titled Beautiful Trauma. The project is her first release since 2012's The Truth About Love.
