BTS meets 'Boom Clap' singer Charli XCX in South Korea

Aug. 14 (UPI) -- South Korean boy band BTS met "Boom Clap" singer Charli XCX over the weekend.

The K-pop group spent time with the 25-year-old British star following her performance at Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival on Sunday.

"first day as the newest member of @bts.bighitofficial. love you guys," Charli XCX captioned a photo on Instagram of herself with the boy band.

"thank you for coming! @charli_xcx," the group added to a picture on Twitter.

BTS and Charli XCX didn't share further details about their meeting, although fans shared their hopes for a collaboration in the comments.

"I hope I smell a collaboration," one person tweeted.

"Petition for @charli_xcx to do a version of boys with @BTS_twt in the video. Breathe if you agree," another person added.

BTS received their first win at the Teen Choice Awards the same evening. The boy band won Choice International Artist, with Harry Styles and Ariana Grande taking Choice Male and Female Artist, respectively.

"Congrats to @BTS_twt on your #ChoiceInternationalArtist win!" the Teen Choice Awards official Twitter account wrote.

BTS last released the album Wings in October, and will return with a new album in September. The group made a list of the most-watched singers on YouTube in the U.S. released by the New York Times last week.
