The "Fetish" video features a close-up of Gomez's lips as she sings along to the song, and had been viewed more than 4.4 million times as of Thursday morning. The song drew praise from Gomez's friend and fellow singer Taylor Swift.

"Sultry pop magic from this dreamy almost-birthday-girl," the 27-year-old pop star wrote, returning to Instagram after more than a two-month hiatus.

"Fetish" is expected to appear on Gomez's forthcoming third studio album, along with the single "Bad Liar." The singer is working on the record following a months-long retreat from the spotlight in 2016.

"My self-esteem was shot," she confessed in the April issue of Vogue. "I was depressed, anxious. I started to have panic attacks right before getting onstage, or right after leaving the stage. Basically I felt I wasn't good enough, wasn't capable."

Gomez last released the album Revival in October 2015.
