July 13 (UPI) -- Loretta Lynn will postpone additional tour dates and the release of her new album as she continues to recuperate from a stroke. The 85-year-old country star said in a statement on her website Wednesday that she's focused on "making a full recovery" after having a stroke in May.

"Thank you so much for all of your prayers, love, and support," Lynn wrote. "I'm happy to say that I'm at home with my family and getting better by the day! My main focus now is making a full recovery so that I can get back to putting all of me into what I love, sharing my music with you."
"My new album, Wouldn't It Be Great, was originally scheduled to come in August this year. I now want to wait to release it next year because this record is so special to me," she explained. "It deserves me at my best and I can't wait to share it."
"I want to thank everyone for hanging in there with me," the star added. "I am getting stronger every day and can't wait to get back out there with all of you. I'm just letting everybody know that Willie [Nelson] ain't dead yet and neither am I, and I can't wait to see all of you on the road!"
Lynn's official Facebook page confirmed May 5 that the singer was admitted to the hospital after having a stroke at her home in Hurricane Mills, Tenn., the night previous. Her website shared an update May 15, saying Lynn was "doing great" in the wake of her stroke.
"Loretta wants to thank everybody for their prayers love and support. Loretta has been moved from hospital facility in to rehabilitation and we're happy to report she is doing great!" the post reads.
Lynn announced Wouldn't It Be Great a day before her 85th birthday in April. She was to perform July 21 in Dubuque, Iowa, before performing at different shows across the country through May 2018.
