June 27 (UPI) -- Charlotte Church has miscarried just weeks after announcing her third pregnancy. The 31-year-old singer said Monday on Twitter that she and boyfriend Jonathan Powell have "lost their baby" and are "grieving" as a family.
"Charlotte and Jonny are very sad to announce that they lost their baby. Now is a time for grieving and being together as a family," Church tweeted.
"We kindly ask everyone to respect that peace," she added.
Church, who shares 9-year-old daughter Ruby and 8-year-old son Dexter with ex-fiancé Gavin Henson, confirmed in May that she and Powell were expecting. She later told the Guardian she was feeling "brilliant" amid her third pregnancy.
"It's great, it's lovely. I don't know if I'll ever be a party girl again," the star said. "It feels very different this time around."
