Keith Urban, Carrie Underwood win big at 2017 CMT Awards

June 8 (UPI) -- Keith Urband and Carrie Underwood won big Wednesday during the 2017 CMT Awards, taking home the night's top honors.

Urban earned Male Video of the Year for "Blue Ain't Your Color" alongside Underwood who scored Female Video of the Year for "Church Bells."

Collaborative Video of the Year was shared between Urban and Underwood for their song "The Fighter." The win gives Underwood the most wins in the show's history with 17 in total.

Urban also won the award for Social Superstar of the Year. The singer has now earned seven CMT Music Awards throughout his career.

Other winners include Florida Georgia Line who earned Duo Video of the Year for "H.O.L.Y," Little Big Town with Group Video of the Year for "Better Man," Lauren Alaina who took home Breakthrough Video of the Year for "Road Less Traveled," and Jason Derulo and Luke Bryan earning CMT Performance of the Year for "Want to Want Me."

The event, hosted by Charles Esten from the Music City Center in Nashville, kicked things off with a tribute to rocker Gregg Allman of the Allman Brothers who died in May.

The performance featured Lady Antebellum's Charles Kelley, Jason Aldean, Darius Rucker and Derek Trucks performing the 1971 bluesy Southern rock jam "Midnight Rider."
