"I've been waiting a long time for you to hear this song. Hope ya love it!" he wrote to his 29.4 million Twitter followers.

"Slow Hands" features a heavy bass line and suggestive lyrics, including, "No, no chance / That I'm leaving here without you / I know that there's already ain't no stopping / Your plan involves slow hands / Slow hands."

Horan recently discussed the single with E! News.

"I'm so happy to be releasing 'Slow Hands.' I've been listening to a lot of early '80s stuff lately and been inspired by that heavy bass and the funky guitar sound," he said. "It's another flavor to my album that I'm excited to share."

Horan's solo album will also include the song "This Town." The singer said Wednesday in an interview with Mikey Piff on Sirius XM Hits 1 that the record will reflect his Irish heritage.

"I'm Irish, so when I do sing, I do sing with a bit of an Irish-y tone. There was one song in particular that I recorded ... a finger-picked song that I have," he shared. "So I bring some of that into my songwriting and you'll hear flavors of that on the album."

Horan came to fame with the British boy band One Direction, which has been on an indefinite hiatus since December 2015. His bandmate Harry Styles released the new song "Sweet Creature" this week.
