March 6 (UPI) -- Celebrity couple Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid thanked fans Sunday for the singer's iHeartRadio Music Awards win.

The 24-year-old English singer and 21-year-old American model were unable to attend the awards show in Inglewood, Calif., but posted a video from Paris to celebrate Malik taking home Best Music Video of the Year for "Pillowtalk."

"Hello to everyone at iHeart. I'm currently in Paris, so I can't be there," Malik shared. "A little birdie told me that I actually won an award, so thank you very much. I'm very honored. To everyone who voted, thank you very much. It means a lot."

"My co-star is actually sitting right next to me here, so she's going to say hello as well," he said before Hadid added, "Hello guys. Thank you so much."

"Pillowtalk" appears on Malik's debut solo album, Mind of Mine, which he released in March 2016. The song debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and has a music video starring Malik and Hadid.

"[It] was cool [to have Gigi in the video]," the singer said in an interview with Zach Sang and the Gang in February 2016. "It was something different. We enjoyed it. It was fun. Had a lot of fun on set."

Malik and Hadid were first linked in November 2015, and made their red carpet debut as a couple at the Met gala in May. The model recounted her first date with the One Direction singer on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in February.

"We played it cool for, like, 10 minutes, and then I was like, 'You're really cute,'" she recalled. "We connected really quickly. We kind of had the same sense of humor and started sharing videos."
