March 3 (UPI) -- Lisa Marie Presley's estranged husband won't face child sexual misconduct charges in Tennessee following an initial inquiry.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation concluded their investigation of the 49-year-old singer's estranged husband, Michael Lockwood, after Presley alleged her ex possessed "inappropriate photos of children."

"Barring any new potential evidence or information, we have concluded our involvement in this matter," T.B.I. public information officer Josh DeVine told People. "We have not been able to determine a crime occurred in Tennessee and accordingly do not have an open investigation."

"[We] never opened a formal investigation. We only embarked on an initial inquiry to determine if we could substantiate information with which to open a case," he added.

Presley, who split from Lockwood in June 2016, had claimed in court papers in February that 8-year-old twin daughters Finley and Harper Lockwood were taken from their custody after she found disturbing photos on Lockwood's computer.

"Respondent [Lockwood] was discovered to have hundreds of inappropriate photos of children and is facing allegation of sexual abuse and neglect," the star alleged in the documents.

Presley's mom, Priscilla Presley, later denied Finley and Harper are in foster care and said she is caring for the twins. She told Entertainment Tonight this week that the girls have been living with her for nine months.

"It's still a very family-oriented environment for them," the 71-year-old actress said. "They're great. They're doing wonderful. They're living a great life. They see both their parents, and we'll see what happens."
