Feb. 28 (UPI) -- New couple Selena Gomez and The Weeknd stepped out Monday in Paris.

The 24-year-old American singer and 27-year-old Canadian crooner were spotted at La Réserve, a hotel just minutes away from where The Weeknd's ex-girlfriend, Bella Hadid, was staying, according to Entertainment Tonight.

The Weeknd will perform Tuesday at AccorHotels Arena, while Hadid is in town for fittings ahead of Paris Fashion Week. The singer and the 20-year-old American model split in November after nearly two years of dating.

"As an outsider, you might think I handled it well, but it's always in your heart, and you always feel it very heavily," Hadid said of the breakup in the new issue of Teen Vogue. "Love hurts, but you have to pull through."

"I'll always respect him, and I'll always love him," she added. "Sometimes you want to be sad about it or handle it differently, but at the end of the day, you never want to burn a bridge that you've fought so hard to build."

Gomez, who is friends with Hadid's sister, model Gigi Hadid, was first linked to The Weeknd in January, and enjoyed a romantic trip to Italy with the singer the same month. People reported Hadid was upset by her ex-boyfriend's new relationship.

"Bella and [The Weeknd's] split wasn't dramatic, but of course she's hurt and [expletive] that he's moved on so quickly with Selena," a source said.

"They've always been friendly, but they're not best friends," insiders added of Hadid and Gomez. "Selena knows Bella through Taylor [Swift] and her squad, but they've never been close."

Gomez last released the album Revival in 2015, and will executive produce the new Netflix series 13 Reasons Why. The Weeknd released his third studio album, Starboy, in November, which includes the singles "I Feel it Coming" and "Party Monster."
