Demi Lovato talks about dating MMA fighter Guilherme Vasconcelos

Feb. 22 (UPI) -- Demi Lovato says dating MMA fighter Guilherme Vasconcelos can be a stressful experience.

The 24-year-old American singer admitted on Wednesday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show that she gets nervous when the 31-year-old Brazilian star, aka Bomba, fights.

"Yeah, [I date] an MMA fighter," Lovato said of Vasconcelos. "[MMA means] mixed martial arts. It is cage fighting."

"There are rules, but you are in a cage," she added before confirming fighters can kick opponents in the face but not the groin. "Yeah, of course [I get nervous when he's in the ring]."

"Yes, [he mostly wins]," the star said. "I don't feel bad [for his opponent], nope! It's a sport."

Lovato and Vasconcelos were first linked in June, and rekindled their romance in December following the singer's split from UFC fighter Luke Rockhold. Vasconcelos appeared to confirm the romance by sharing a photo with Lovato in January.

"Demi and Luke broke up before Christmas. It wasn't anything dramatic. The relationship just wasn't heading where she wanted it to go," a source told People the same month.

"She's started seeing Bomba again. She's really physically attracted to him," the insider added.

Lovato shared a video over the weekend of herself and Vasconcelos practicing jiujitsu. The star captioned the clip, "When you kick bae's [expletive] #jiujitsu @bombatuf."
