Lady Gaga's performance started with some technical difficulties, as Metallica frontman James Hetfield's microphone wasn't working. The "Million Reasons" singer celebrated the collaboration anyway on social media.

"One of the best times I've ever had on stage ever. These guys rock HARD! #kevinmazur thank you to you and your loyal fans for honoring me and monsters with that moment," she wrote.

Adele experienced some trouble with her own performance, completely restarting her tribute to George Michael after singing in the wrong key. She went on to perform a powerhouse rendition of the late star's song "Fastlove."

"I know it's live TV. I'm sorry," the singer said. "I'm sorry for swearing and I'm sorry for starting again. Can we please start it again? I'm sorry. I can't mess this up for him."
