Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Kylie Minogue and fiancé Joshua Sasse have called it quits.

The 48-year-old Australian singer confirmed in an Instagram post Friday that she and the 29-year-old English actor called off their wedding after a nearly year-long engagement.

"Thank you for all your love and support throughout this recent chapter of my life," Minogue wrote to her 1.4 million followers.

"Thank you now for your love and understanding with the news that Josh and I have decided to go our separate ways. We wish only the best for each other as we venture towards new horizons. #thesunalwaysrises," she added.

Sources told The Sun that Minogue is "absolutely devastated" and "totally heartbroken" by the split. The singer and Sasse got engaged in February 2016 after meeting on the set of the actor's show Galavant.

"A huge thanks for all of your kind wishes today. Love & Love, J & K," the pair wrote at the time.

Minogue had said in an interview with the Daily Mail's You Magazine in December that she and Sasse were still in "the romantic stage" of their relationship. She also shared that they were in no rush to tie the knot.

"I'm happy enjoying being engaged, it's a lovely time we have together," the star gushed. "There's no pressure. My mum isn't buying a hat. Everyone is very happy for us as we are. My parents love him."

Minogue last released the holiday album Kylie Christmas in 2015. Sasse is known for playing the title character on Galavant, and presently portrays Xavier on The CW series No Tomorrow.
