Jan. 18 (UPI) -- Zayn Malik's latest tattoo is fueling Gigi Hadid engagement rumors. The 24-year-old English singer debuted his new ink -- the word "love" scrawled across his right hand -- Tuesday in New York after filming a cameo for Ocean's Eight, according to People.

Hadid sparked speculation Monday after she was spotted wearing a gold ring on her left hand. Sources previously told Life & Style, however, that the 21-year-old American model isn't ready to get engaged.
"Zayn recently asked Gigi to marry him," an insider said in December. "She's only 21 and doesn't feel ready to tie the knot, so she turned him down."
"She's seen her mom [Yolanda Hadid] go through two messy divorces, so Gigi wants to make 100 percent sure Zayn's the one before she makes a lifetime commitment," the source explained.
Malik and Hadid were first linked in November 2015 and made their red carpet debut as a couple in May. The model dedicated a sweet post to Malik last week on Instagram in honor of his 24th birthday.
"Happy birthday my handsome! so lucky to know and love a soul like yours. wishing you the best year ever!!!" she wrote.
Malik had said in the September issue of Elle U.K. that he and Hadid complement each other well. The singer came to fame with One Direction, and has since released the solo album Mind of Mine.
