LOS ANGELES, Jan. 13 (UPI) -- The Weeknd says he's open to having kids before marriage.

The 26-year-old Canadian singer discussed his romantic future in the February issue of GQ following his split from Bella Hadid and prior to dating Selena Gomez.

"I feel like I'm the kind of guy that would have kids before getting married," The Weeknd told the magazine. "The first thing would be kids. Marriage is scary to me, man."

"I'm much more, like, self-regulating than I was four years ago, when I first started getting everything and enjoying life," he later added. "I don't focus on [sex] as much as I used to."

"Right now, it's like a good song turns me on way more. Like, that gets me horny, like, literally gets me horny," the star said.

The Weeknd, born Abel Tesfaye, and Hadid called it quits in November after nearly two years of dating. The singer was spotted kissing Gomez outside Giorgio Baldi restaurant Tuesday in Santa Monica, Calif.

"[The Weeknd] always had a thing for Selena," a source told E! News this week. "He thinks she is extremely talented and sexy."

"They recently started talking before the holidays but she has been on his radar before," the insider added. "They are on the same level with expectations and think the other is really fun. They are taking things slow and getting to know each other."

The Weeknd last released the album Starboy in November, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The record includes the singles "Starboy," "I Feel It Coming" and "Party Monster."
