Camila Cabello departs Fifth Harmony

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 19 (UPI) -- Fifth Harmony is now down to four members as Camila Cabello has decided to exit the pop girl group.

"After 4 and a half years of being together, we have been informed via her representatives that Camila has decided to leave Fifth Harmony. We wish her well," Fifth Harmony noted on Twitter Sunday.

"You Harmonizers have been there with us since the beginning, you've supported us, and with your love and support, we will continue on. That being said, we are excited to announce that we will be moving forward with the four of us- Ally Brooke, Normani Kordei, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui for our fans. We are four strong, committed women who will continue with Fifth Harmony as well as our solo endeavors," they continued about how Fifth Harmony would remain together.

"We are excited for our future, and we can't wait for what the new year brings. Harmonizers, we are in this together. We love you with all of our heart."

Cabello's departure comes after the collective announced plans to release a new album with Jane detailing to radio host Elvis Duran, "The third album is definitely going to be so lit. We're really excited.

According to E! News, tension with Cabello came about after the singer left a Fifth Harmony concert early due to anxiety and for asking to switch spots with Jane during a red carpet event .

Fifth Harmony formed during the second season of the American version of the X Factor in 2012 and have released two albums Worth It and 7/27 which featured hit singles "Worth It" and "Work From Home."
