LAS VEGAS, Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Recording superstars -- and former husband and wife -- Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez were among the luminaries photographed on the red carpet at the 17th annual Latin Grammy Awards ceremony in Las Vegas Thursday night.
Also adding glamour to the gala were Daniela di Giacomo, Chiquinquira Delgado, Juan Lombera, William Valdes, Kristian Larsen, Melizza Samaniego and Amalia Mondragon.
Going into the evening's ceremony with a leading four nominations each were Julio Reyes Copello, Djavan, Fonseca, Jesse & Joy, and Ricardo López Lalinde.
"This year's group of nominees showcases the craftsmanship of the artists in front of the microphone and behind the soundboard, a true testament to the dedication of our voting body and their commitment to recognize creative individuals on all levels," Gabriel Abaroa Jr., president and chief executive officer of The Latin Recording Academy, said when nominations were announced in September.
Other nominees include Pablo Alborán, Pepe Aguilar, Andrea Bocelli, the late Juan Gabriel, Enrique Iglesias, Shakira, Los Tigres Del Norte, Diego Torres, Julieta Venegas, Carlos Vives, Wisin, and Yandel.
The academy honored Anthony as its Person of the Year at a ceremony Wednesday night.
