NASHVILLE, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Taylor Swift handed out the top award -- Entertainer of the Year -- to Garth Brooks at Wednesday night's Country Music Association Awards show in Nashville.
In accepting the prize, Brooks recognized his "road family," band, crew and representatives, then expressed his gratitude to his wife, "the coolest touring mate you could ever ask for, the love of my life, the breath I breathe in and out, Miss [Trisha] Yearwood. I love you very, very much."
The couple performed together earlier in the ceremony, which was hosted by Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley.
