NASHVILLE, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Pop-music superstar Beyonce was a surprise performer at the 50th annual Country Music Association Awards ceremony in Nashville Wednesday night.
She and her fellow Texans -- the Dixie Chicks -- sang an electrifying rendition of "Daddy Lessons," which had most of the country crowd in the Bridgestone Arena on its feet.
"Frequently, country crosses over. But every now & then a major pop superstar wants to be a part of this too. Welcome, Beyoncé. #cmaawards50," the gala's co-host Brad Paisley tweeted earlier in the day when rumors started swirling that Beyonce would be part of the show.
