NASHVILLE, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- Carrie Underwood says her son's life isn't as glamorous as people may think.

The 33-year-old singer admitted in the November issue of Redbook that she sometimes feels "guilty" about the effect her career has on 19-month-old Isaiah.

"Sometimes I feel guilty that this is my son's life: We live on a bus and we're in a hotel room and sometimes we're in the middle of nowhere and it's not so great," Underwood said.

"It's not all glamorous. We have a nanny who helps out, especially when we're on the road. But I'd feel guilty asking someone to watch him at home while I run to the grocery store," she confessed.

Underwood told the magazine she's "learning" to accept help, and advised other working mothers to ask for assistance when they need it. The singer said she savors the quiet moments she gets with Isaiah despite her busy schedule.

"He'll be watching cartoons and I'll be watching him," she revealed. "I'm completely in love. I love it when he's sleepy and I get to hold him and smell him. He doesn't know I'm staring at him and being all googly-eyed!"

The "Heartbeat" singer told Extra in June that she does "as much as [she] can" to engage Isaiah on the road. She said she's "always looking up baby-friendly things to do," even if it's just going for a swim in the hotel pool.

"I want him to have childhood normalcy," the star explained. "We try. I think that's the important thing. We take him down to the pools at the hotels and let him splash around because a kid would do that."

Underwood last released the album Storyteller in October 2015, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. She kicked off her accompanying tour in January and will bring the venture to a close Nov. 28 in West Valley City, Utah.
