NEW YORK, Sept. 8 (UPI) -- Rapper and entrepreneur Kanye West is investing in Tyga's music career.

The 39-year-old entertainer announced at his Yeezy Season 4 fashion show Wednesday that he signed the 26-year-old rapper to his G.O.O.D Music record label.

Tyga is dating Kylie Jenner, the 19-year-old half-sister of West's wife, Kim Kardashian. Many suggested Jenner was responsible for securing Tyga the contract after news of the signing broke.

"Kanye signed Tyga so Kylie wouldn't have to buy her own engagement ring. Such a good person," one person tweeted.

"If Tyga messes up on Kylie, it's really a wrap for him. Buying him cars, getting him signed to her brother-in-law's label. She's his mother," another wrote.

Jenner had made headlines last week for buying Tyga a $300,000 Bentley Bentayga after his Ferrari was reportedly repossessed. The rapper recently settled with a former landlord who claimed he owed $480,000 in rent.

"The case got settled. Tyga paid," the star's lawyer, Boris Treyzon, told Us Weekly in August. "It's been executed and everything has been performed. We expect things to get back to the way they were."

West, who founded G.O.O.D. Music in 2004, also signed 19-year-old recording artist Desiigner. The entertainer had served as executive producer on Tyga's record The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty (2015).
