DETROIT, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- Eminem surprised fans in his hometown of Detroit Tuesday when he joined Drake onstage as part of the Canadian rappers Summer Sixteen Tour.

"Detroit, make some noise for the greatest rapper that ever get on a [expletive] microphone," Drake said while bowing down to Eminem after the duo performed their hit 2007 single "Forever."

The crowd was sent into a frenzy when The Real Slim Shady first appeared onstage rising up from a hidden trap door.

"It's an honor to share the stage with this man right here," Eminem said returning the favor to Drake.

The Detroit native would later share a backstage photo of the two hip-hop heavyweights on Instagram. "Views from The Joe," Eminem wrote, a reference to the concert's venue, the Joe Louis Arena and to Drake's recently released fourth studio album, Views.
