NEW YORK, Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Celine Dion intends to honor late husband René Angélil with a tattoo.

The 48-year-old Canadian singer revealed plans for the tribute in a video interview with Vogue following Angélil's death at age 73 this year.

"Since my husband passed away, they can make the tattoo as his heartbeat," she said while miming an EKG line. "So, I might have his heartbeat on my body for the rest of my life."

Dion and Angélil, her longtime manager, married in 1994 and share three sons: 15-year-old Rene-Charles and 5-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy. Angélil died in January after a long battle with cancer.

"I'm really doing well," Dion told ET Canada on Monday. "I guess if I'm fine, my kids are fine. If my kids are fine, I'm fine, and that's the most important thing. My children are doing well and I'm doing really well."

"I have to stand strong for today and for my kids, for myself, for what's to come, for tomorrow," she said. "I still feel him very much. I cope pretty well with his new life, to be honest with you. I loved him too much to see him suffer."

Dion will release the French-language album Encore un soir on Aug. 26. She will remain in residence at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas through 2019 and kicked off a summer tour of Europe and Canada on June 20.
