Ed Sheeran sparks marriage rumors with 'wedding ring'

LONDON, July 27 (UPI) -- Ed Sheeran marriage rumors are swirling in the wake of a newly-surfaced photo.

The 25-year-old British singer appeared to be wearing a wedding ring in a picture friend and fellow performer Jovel shared on Instagram.

"My baby girls 5th birthday party was lit! Even both godparents were in attendance finally lol," Jovel captioned the snapshot.

Fans immediately began to speculate Sheeran had secretly married girlfriend Cherry Seaborn. Jovel later denied the singer is married in the photo comments.

Sheeran and Seaborn do appear to be going strong, however, having recently celebrated their one-year anniversary. The pair reportedly went to the same high school in Suffolk, England.

The "Thinking Out Loud" singer's best friend, Taylor Swift, threw the couple an anniversary party over Fourth of July weekend. Sheeran and Seaborn can be seen sharing a kiss in a photo Swift posted to Instagram.

Sheeran previously dated Nina Nesbitt and Athina Andrelos, and was linked to Ellie Goulding in 2014. He released the album x the same year, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
