BURBANK, Calif., June 18 (UPI) -- The WaterTower Music soundtrack for The Legend of Tarzan features the original song "Better Love," created especially for the film by singer/songwriter Hozier.

The track is to be released as a single by Columbia Records along with the accompanying video. This marks the first time the Irish-born Hozier has composed a song specifically for a major motion picture.

"I was excited about the opportunity and the challenge of writing for this film project," Hozier said in a statement. "After viewing an early edit, I was struck by the theme of endurance, and endurance of love through such a hostile environment. I wanted the song to be an intimate reassurance as spoken from one lover to another -- one that might be issued in hardship or doubt."

Now available on iTunes, the soundtrack also showcases a score composed by Rupert Gregson-Williams.

Starring Alexander Skarsgård, Samuel L. Jackson, Margot Robbie, Djimon Hounsou, Jim Broadbent and Christoph Waltz, the Warner Bros. Pictures' and Village Roadshow Pictures' movie is to open in theaters nationwide on July 1.
