LAS VEGAS, April 4 (UPI) -- Nick Carter has confirmed he and his fellow Backstreet Boys bandmates are planning a limited Las Vegas concert residency and possible tour with the Spice Girls.

"We actually are going to do nine shows coming up, within the next six, seven months. A trial run in Las Vegas and if people show up and Vegas likes us, then we will do a residency later on," Carter said in a phone interview with UPI last week to promote his Syfy movie Dead 7, a zombie-themed western co-starring members of the Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, O-Town and 98 Degrees.

So, what about those rumors that the Backstreet Boys might unite with British pop icons the Spice Girls for a tour?

"We'd love to. We threw the invitation out, now the girls just have to digest it and make a decision," Carter replied.

The musician also said that he still enjoys collaborating with his fellow boy banders and acting with them on Dead 7 far exceeded his expectations.

"It went better than I hoped," he recalled. "We all share similar stories and experiences, coming from the world that we have been in, in the industry, so it was amazing to share those stories and just to have that bonding experience. We've talked about it. We'd love to do [a movie together] again."
