WASHINGTON, March 2 (UPI) -- Three alternative folk rock musicians, Neko Case, K.D. Lang and Laura Veirs are spearheading their very first collaborative record together, an LP titled Case/Lang/Veirs.

The group also announced a 19-city tour to promote the LP starting June 22.

The trio released their first single from the project, "Atomic Number," featuring all three singers taking turns singing such lyrics as, "I'm not the freckle maid/I'm not the fair-haired girl/I'm not a pan of milk for you to spoil/why are the wholesome things the ones we make obscene?"

Case, Lang and Veirs came together several years ago after Lang sent an email to the other two about recording music together, Rolling Stone reported. "Laura and I both responded immediately," Case said. "There was no question."

The upcoming album will consist of 14 new songs written and recorded over a two-and-a-half-year time period. "Atomic Number" is not only the first single, but the first on the album's track list. Other titles include "Honey and Smoke," "Greens of June," and "I Want to Be Here."
