Hailee Steinfeld releases first single 'Love Myself'

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 7 (UPI) -- Actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld released her first single, "Love Myself," on Thursday.

The 18-year-old star announced the upbeat song on Twitter, revealing she cried upon its release. Steinfeld later tweeted, This is INSANE," after fans reacted positively and the track began trending on social media.

The actress recently sang as Emily Junk in Pitch Perfect 2, and recorded a cover of "Flashlight" following the movie. She signed a contract with Republic Records in May, and is working on her debut studio album.

Steinfeld came to fame after playing Mattie in True Grit, and went on to star as Juliet in a Carlo Carlei adaptation of Romeo & Juliet and Petra in Ender's Game. She is scheduled for Term Life with Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau.
