ARLINGTON, Texas, April 20 (UPI) -- Luke Bryan was named Entertainer of the Year at the 50th Academy of Country Music Awards ceremony Sunday night in Arlington, Texas.
The prize presentation set a new Guinness world record for the highest attendance at an awards show broadcast with a total of 70,252 fans packed into AT&T Stadium, the home of the Dallas Cowboys.
Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert, Reba, George Strait, Taylor Swift, and Brooks & Dunn were honored with 50th Anniversary Milestone Awards at the event for their respective contributions to country music.
Jason Aldean won Male Vocalist of the Year for the third consecutive year and Miranda Lambert was declared Female Vocalist of the Year for the sixth year in a row. Lambert also took home the prizes for Album of the Year for Platinum, and Song of the Year for "Automatic" as artist and songwriter.
Little Big Town earned the honor for Vocal Group of the Year and Florida Georgia Line scored the trophy for Vocal Duo of the Year.
Prior to the show, Florida Georgia Line won Vocal Event of the Year for "This Is How We Roll" featuring Luke Bryan, and Dierks Bentley won the accolade for Video of the Year for "Drunk on a Plane."
