Bobby Brown leaves daughter Bobbi Kristina's side for the first time in 2 months

LOS ANGELES, April 11 (UPI) -- Recording artist Bobby Brown reportedly has left his comatose daughter Bobbi Kristina's side for the first time in more than two months.

TMZ reported Brown flew to California from Georgia to fulfill a contractual obligation to perform and cook at this weekend's Soul Food Festival near downtown Los Angeles.

Brown booked the gig to perform at the event, which will also feature Salt-N-Pepa, El DeBarge and Stephanie Mills, long before Bobbi Kristina was hospitalized.

Brown has been a fixture at the hospitals and rehab center where his 22-year-old daughter has been on life support since a Jan. 31 medical emergency.

The daughter of Brown and his late, ex-wife Whitney Houston was discovered face-down in a bathtub at the home she shared with her boyfriend Nick Gordon, who is now being treated for alcohol and drug addiction, and depression. The circumstances of Bobbi Kristina's crisis remain under investigation.
