Watch Ariana Grande sing Whitney Houston hit 'I Have Nothing'

INGLEWOOD, Calif., April 10 (UPI) -- Ariana Grande channeled Whitney Houston this week in Inglewood, Calif.

The 21-year-old pop star performed an emotional cover of the late singer's hit "I Have Nothing" in concert Wednesday. Grande was accompanied by the song's co-writer and producer, David Foster, on piano.

Houston recorded the single for The Bodyguard soundtrack. The 1992 film starred Kevin Costner as a former secret service agent hired to protect a celebrity singer (Houston), and earned $411 million at the box office.

Grande previously covered the song at the Women of Soul: In Performance at the White House event in March 2014. The pop star released her second studio album, My Everything, in August 2014, and is currently on her accompanying Honeymoon world tour.
