NEW YORK, April 9 (UPI) -- Twisted Sister says Mike Portnoy will replace the heavy metal band's late drummer A.J. Pero for the remaining dates on what it is calling its farewell concert tour.
Along with the scheduled tour stops, Portnoy will also perform with Twisted Sister members Dee Snider, Jay Jay French, Eddie Ojeda and Mark "The Animal" Mendoza at two tribute shows dedicated to Pero, who died last month. The first concert, slated for May 30 at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, will be filmed for broadcast, DVD and CD. The second, which is expected to be attended by Pero's family, is scheduled for June 13 at The Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, N.J.
