Paul McCartney to induct Ringo Starr into Rock Hall of Fame

CLEVELAND, March 18 (UPI) -- Ringo Starr will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by fellow Beatle Paul McCartney April 18 in Cleveland.

The Hall announced the presenters for the upcoming ceremony to induct the latest round of rock and Roll stars.

Starr will be inducted as a solo act rather than just as a member of the Beatles. McCartney was inducted in 1999.

Stevie Wonder is set to induct R&B singer and songwriter Bill Withers. J. Geils Band singer Peter Wolf will introduce the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Fall Out Boy will pay tribute to pop-punk band Green Day, songwriter and singer John Mayer will induct Texas blues-rock guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan and Booker T. & the MG's guitarist Steve Cropper will induct 1950s doo-wop group the "5" Royales.

The person inducting Joan Jett and the Blackhearts has yet to be announced.

The ceremony will take place at Cleveland's Public Hall on April 18 and air on HBO May 30.
