DUBLIN, Ireland, March 16 (UPI) -- Heather Mills had a few mean words about her ex-husband Paul McCartney during her appearance on The Late Late Show with Ryan Tubridy on Friday.

When the 47-year-old activist was asked about her marriage to the former Beatle, Mills said she did not "want this interview to be all about Paul."

"That umbilical cord was broken," she said. "He's married someone else and I agreed to come on the show so it wasn't just all about Paul."

When she was reminded that some people are more interested in her relationship with McCartney than she cares to admit, Mills said it's "boring" to talk about him.

"If I go down the street, all I get is kids coming up to me. Half of them don't even know who he is," she said. "That's why he's got to do songs with Rihanna and Kanye West, so people remember [him]."

Mills comments relate to the singer's tracks "Only One" and "FourFive Seconds." He collaborated with West in both, and with Rihanna in the latter.

"Most of the times I get people come up to me and say 'Oh my God you're that ski racer,' or 'you help the animals,'" Mills said, adding, "Things have changed in the world. This is just someone I fell in love with who to me was a normal guy that happened to write a few cool songs in the '60s and a few in '70s."

McCartney and Mills were married form 2002 to 2008. The singer married Nancy Shevell, his third wife, in October 2011.
