Missy Elliott, Pharrell Williams team up in the studio

PORTLAND, Ore., Feb. 27 (UPI) -- Missy Elliott took to Twitter to share a photo with Pharrell Williams on Thursday.

The 43-year-old rapper posted a picture of herself and the 41-year-old singer and music producer in the studio. The snapshot comes weeks after Elliott's surprise performance with Katy Perry at Super Bowl XLIX, and amid rumors she plans to release a new album.

"VA! 2 up 2 down! Me & my fam @Pharrell hard at work," she captioned the photo. Elliott previously shared a picture of herself with frequent collaborator Timbaland in the studio earlier this month.

Elliott spoke to Sway in the Morning after posting the Timbaland snapshot, and confirmed she and the producer intend to "get some work done." The rapper last released The Cookbook in 2005, and joined Williams onstage at the 2014 BET Awards in June.
