Melissa Rivers accepts Joan Rivers' Grammy on late mom's behalf

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Melissa Rivers and her 14-year-old son Cooper Endicott accepted a Grammy Award on the late Joan Rivers' behalf in Los Angeles Sunday night.

Joan Rivers won the prize for Best Spoken Word Album for her memoir Diary of a Mad Diva. The beloved comedian and TV personality died Sept. 4, 2014 at the age of 81.

"My mother would be absolutely thrilled to be here," Melissa Rivers said as she collected the award. "She loved getting anything. If she thought she could get something at a Waffle House in Secaucus, she would be there."
