LOS ANGELES, Nov. 11 (UPI) -- Nicki Minaj has apologized for her lyric video for "Only."

The 31-year-old singer addressed the video's perceived Nazi imagery Tuesday on Twitter. Minaj appears as a dictator in the animated feature, and commands her armband-wearing army from a throne flanked by "YM"-emblazoned banners. The insignia refers to her record label, Young Money, but many have compared the design to Nazi swastika-adorned uniforms and standards.

"The artist who made the lyric video for 'Only' was influenced by a cartoon on Cartoon Network called 'Metalocalypse' and Sin City," Minaj tweeted. "Both the producer, & person in charge of over seeing the lyric video (one of my best friends & videographer: A. Loucas), happen to be Jewish."

"I didn't come up w/the concept, but I'm very sorry & take full responsibility if it has offended anyone," she continued. "I'd never condone Nazism in my art."

"Only" is the third single to debut from Minaj's upcoming third studio album, The Pinkprint. The record is scheduled for release December 15, and also includes the singles "Pills n Potions" and "Anaconda." Minaj last released Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded in April 2012.
