NEW YORK, Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Tomeeka Robyn Bracy, the 40-year-old girlfriend of music icon Stevie Wonder, is pregnant with triplets.
These will be the ninth, 10th and 11th children for the 64-year-old singer-songwriter. His first eight kids, who range in age from 1 to 39, have five different mothers.
"It's Stevie's mechanism for his happiness," a family source told the New York Post. "I don't know that he set out to have 11 children, including triplets at his age, but it's not like he isn't happy about it or he can't afford children."
Bracy is the mother of Wonder's youngest child whose gender was not reported. The genders and anticipated birthdate of the triplets also were not disclosed.
Wonder is to kick off his Songs in the Key of Life North American concert tour in New York Thursday. Produced and promoted by Live Nation, the performances will be live adaptations of his celebrated 1976 album, which the Library of Congress has preserved in the National Recording Registry. It features the classic songs "I Wish," "Sir Duke," "Another Star" and "Isn't She Lovely."
Throughout his career, Wonder has amassed 49 Top 40 singles, 32 No. 1 singles and worldwide album sales of more than 100 million units. He also has earned 25 Grammy Awards, an Oscar and a Golden Globe; is an inductee into the Rock and Roll, Songwriters' and NAACP halls of fame; and is a recipient of the Kennedy Center Honor
