B.B. King cancels remaining tour dates due to illness

King has had Type II diabetes for two decades.

CHICAGO, Oct. 6 (UPI) -- Blues performer B.B. King cancelled all of his tour performances Saturday after falling ill during a show at the House of Blues in Chicago.

King has had problems throughout the course of his tour to the point where his reps apologized for a substandard performance in St. Louis. King has had Type II diabetes for two decades. His website issued a statement on the cancelation.

"He was immediately evaluated by a doctor and diagnosed with dehydration and suffering from exhaustion whereby causing the eight remaining shows of his current tour to be cancelled," said his website.

His band has wished him a safe and speedy recovery.
