NEW YORK, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- Imitation is the greatest form of flattery and Aretha Franklin is flattering and R-E-S-P-E-C-T-ing fellow artist Adele with a cover of her song "Rolling in the Deep."

On her new album, Aretha Franklin Sings the Great Diva Classics, the legend gives a soulful rendition of the 26-year-old British singer's song with a mashup of "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell.

She also covered Etta James' "At Last," Barbra Streisand's "People," Alicia Keys' "No One" and "You Keep Me Hangin' On" by The Supremes.

Adele has taken time off since giving birth to her son Angelo in 2012 and to have a vocal cord surgery in 2011. She is rumored to be releasing her next album, 25, in 2015.

"Aretha Franklin Sings the Great Diva Classics" will hit shelves Oct. 12.
