Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande and Jessie J top U.K. charts with 'Bang Bang'

The track "Bang Bang" was released on July 29 as the lead single on Jessie J's upcoming third studio album, "Sweet Talker."

LONDON, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- Nicki Minaj took to Twitter over the weekend to announce her excitement over her new single featuring Ariana Grande and Jessie J reaching No. 1 on the U.K.'s charts.

"Bang Bang" was released on July 29 as the lead single on Jessie J's upcoming third studio album, Sweet Talker. Minaj, Grande and Jessie J performed the track live for the first time at the MTV Video Music Awards in August.

Minaj, who has never fared so well on U.K. charts in the past, also shared a photo of the single's cover art on Instagram featuring herself, Grande and Jessie J.

"Heard #BangBang is #1 in the UK. AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! thank u guys!!!!! Can't wait to come see u!!!!! ItsMeJessieAndAri #HistoryInTheMaking mmmmuuuuaaahhhhh!!!!!!" she wrote in the caption.
