Eduardo Cabra of Calle 13 earns 10 Latin Grammy nominations

The 15th annual Latin Grammy Awards ceremony is to take place Nov. 20 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The show will be broadcast live on the Univision Network.

MIAMI, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- Eduardo Cabra of Calle 13 led the field with 10 nods when nominations for the 15th annual Latin Grammy Awards were announced Wednesday.

Calle 13 is up for nine awards, while Andrés Castro earned eight nominations; Tom Coyne received seven; Julio Reyes Copello and Carlos Vives scored six apiece; and Descemer Bueno and Enrique Iglesias netted five each.

Vying for the Best New Artist title are Aneeka, Linda Briceño, Caloncho, Julio César, Pablo López, Miranda, Periko & Jessi León, Daniela Spalla, Juan Pablo Vega, and Mariana Vega.

Nominated for Album of the Year are 3.0 by Marc Anthony, Tangos by Rubén Blades, Multiviral by Calle 13, Elypse by Camila, Canción Andaluza by Paco de Lucía, Raíz by Lila Downs, Niña Pastori y Soledad, Bailar En La Cueva by Jorge Drexler, Fonseca Sinfónico by Fonseca, Somos by Jarabe De Palo and Más + Corazón Profundo by Carlos Vives.

Up for Record of the Year are "Donde Está El Amor" by Pablo Alborán featuring Jesse & Joy, "Cambio De Piel" by Marc Anthony, "Respira El Momento" by Calle 13, "Decidiste Dejarme" by Camila, "Universos Paralelos" by Jorge Drexler featuring Ana Tijoux, "Llegaste Tú" by Luis Fonsi featuring Juan Luis Guerra, "Bailando" by Enrique Iglesias featuring Descemer Bueno & Gente De Zona, "Darte Un Beso" by Prince Royce, "Cuando Nos Volvamos a Encontrar" by Carlos Vives featuring Marc Anthony and "El Mar De Sus Ojos" by Carlos Vives featuring ChocQuibTown.

"With the roster of multitalented nominees, it is reassuring that this peer-recognized award is truly focused on acknowledging the quality of material and excellence in recorded music and reflects the evolution of not only our awards process, but the growth of the organization in recognizing the best and most current representation of music. And once again, we are excited to partner with Univision and the MGM Grand Garden Arena to present what is sure to be one of the most memorable telecasts in Latin Grammy history."
