BOSTON, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- Seth MacFarlane will release new album Holiday for Swing this fall.

The record is the 40-year-old Family Guy creator's second studio release, and a followup to 2011's Music is Better Than Words.

Holiday for Swing was recorded over the past Christmas season, and includes such classics as "Let It Snow" and "Baby, It's Cold Outside." MacFarlane collaborated with arranger-producer Joel McNeely and a 65-piece orchestra on the project, and detailed the album in an interview with Billboard.

"I'm not frankly a huge connoisseur of holiday music, but I love orchestral jazz," he shared. "I love that era of high orchestral musicality that bears a lot of similarities to holiday music in a lot of ways."

"Surprisingly, a good chunk of Family Guy fans recognizes why we do this," he continued of his music. "They see that against all the comedy is a legitimate regard to the importance of music. It's virtually the only show left on TV that uses a live orchestra for every episode."

MacFarlane said it was "a joy" to sing "Baby, It's Cold Outside" with Sara Bareilles and the orchestra, and believes the album "worked out nicely." He is currently filming Ted 2 in Boston, Mass., for a June 26, 2015 release.
