Blake Shelton announces new album 'Bringing Back the Sunshine'

The singer last released "Based on a True Story..." in 2013.

NASHVILLE, Aug. 1 (UPI) -- Blake Shelton has revealed the title, cover art and release date for his ninth studio album.

The record is called Bringing Back the Sunshine, and is scheduled for release September 30. The cover art features a water tower in Shelton's home town of Ada, Okla.

The 38-year-old country star last released Based on a True Story... in March 2013. The album included the singles "Sure Be Cool If You Did" and "Mine Would Be You" and debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. The record has sold over 1.2 million copies in the U.S.

Shelton will return to coach contestants on season seven of The Voice, with Little Big Town as mentors. Stevie Nicks will mentor Team Adam Levine, Alicia Keys will advise Team Pharrell Williams and coach Gwen Stefani has recruited husband Gavin Rossdale to fill the role on her team. The new season of The Voice premieres September 22 on NBC.
