DEARBORN, Mich., June 27 (UPI) -- Kellie Pickler has been approved by the Dearborn City Council to headline the upcoming 35th annual Homecoming Festival.
The Dearborn Homecoming will take place August 1-3 at Ford Field Park, home of the Detroit Lions. The 27-year-old singer is set to perform on the main stage Saturday Aug. 2 at 8:30 p.m.
Pickler, an American Idol alum, is best known for hit songs like "Red High Heels," "I Wonder," "Things That Never Cross a Man's Mind" and "Best Days of Your Life," and for winning the 16th season of Dancing With The Stars alongside profesional dancer Dereck Hough.
