ATLANTA, June 18 (UPI) -- Azealia Banks and T.I. are apparently not ones to take an insult lying down.

The 23-year-old singer and 33-year-old rapper got into it Monday after T.I. tweeted about his new single "No Mediocre" featuring Iggy Azalea. Banks has previous beef with the 24-year-old "Fancy" rapper, but chose to insult T.I.'s wife Tiny in response to the song.

"U want no mediocre but ... Have you seen your wife?" she wrote in a tweet that has since been deleted.

Banks followed up on Tuesday with more pointed barbs, saying "your wife has meth face" and "your wife can't read." The additional insults led T.I. to respond by posting a picture of Banks on Instagram captioned with a tirade.

"U musty-mouthed-thot-bot-bad-body-syphilis-lipped-rectum-vomit-unimportant-ugggggly-monstrosity-of-a-maggot-ass BIIIIIITCCHHHH!!!!! If u speak ill of my family again..... The harangue did not cow the singer, who shot back, "I'm taller than you in my heels," "Come see me nigga," "And come by yourself." She later posted, "Guess who's about to get sued for threatening me!"
